About
I’m currently studying Occupational Therapy with my interest in health science and human connection. Having a close family member with autism and intellectual disability, I have been helping with caretaking work since I was a child. With my previous social development studies and communication degree, plus rich cultural knowledge growing up in a metropolitan city, I am well aware of the restriction of chronic pain, frustration with healthcare system, lack of empathetic understanding or social stigma that may encountered by community dwellers. My family lived experience and my placement practice in public hospital this year have sharpened my understanding of cognitive, physical and emotional challenges faced by patients with various conditions like neurological disorder, psoriartic arthritis, giant cell arteritis, spondylitis, orthopaedic emergencies, depression and anxiety. Being passionate in advocacy for inclusive society and equitable access in community, my previous employment cover work as e.g. clinic assistant, licensing inspector, communication teacher and project officer for life and spiritual education in the university before moving to Sydney, and I enjoyed volunteering as the University equal opportunity ambassador and SPCA inspector in Hong Kong which are meaningful. I am an adventurous person who loves sunshine, nature and animals. Being social carer in Sydney brings genuine satisfaction to me. I appreciate the chance to offer assistance to any individual who wants listening ears, companionship, care or trivial domestic support without sacrificing dignity or privacy, or simply to have fun of activities. Please feel free to reach out.
