About

Hi, my name is Stewart, I worked in the Aged and Disability sector both in community and residential care as a carer for 5 years, prior to that I started my working life started with the Dept of Defence – Australian Army where I was for about 9 years and after that I had a herculean stint, near on 20 years in software development. I’m a country guy, originally from Albury, have moved around abit both here in Australia as well as overseas. I love engaging with people and I will say that the experiences gained during my time within aged and disability care have shaped my humanity, created such wonderful memories, helped me in my own self-discovery and guided me in appreciating the importance of enablement and empowerment. Outside of my normal work and family duties I am also a volunteer with the Red Cross Telecross service, and I am also engaged as a community volunteer with the Central Coast volunteering, visiting people of the older generation in residential care. I am a single parent that has raised two sons, one now an adult and the other getting close to being one . I have one fur baby called Josephine, a country girl and a rescue pooch from Dubbo. Perhaps engage in such things as beach, exercise, movies or visiting museums, going for drives, eating out, cooking, gardening, bushwalking or getting out an about within the local or wider community, but I think its also about giving the person that I am support the opportunity to do something that they enjoy or something that is new that they would like to experience
