About

Hello my name is Oliver. Growing up, my childhood was split in three different areas. I was born in the Philippines and left when I was 8 to move to New Zealand; where I spent most of my childhood there and after feeling I've settled in well; left half way of high school at 15. I then moved to Australia where I grew into adulthood. Throughout these experience of going to two primary schools, one intermediate (middle school in NZ), two high schools and two university campuses; I am well familiar with knowing how it feels to constantly make new friends, feeling of not fitting in and to adapt to the people around you. I have known what it feels like to be new, alone, misunderstood, being the odd one out but I also knows what it feels like to be loved, cared for, have great friends and have the time of your life. It's in my heart to help others in Like Family in supporting them to help them open up, make new friends, be comfortable in change, embrace who they are, encourage they are special and enough and journey with them to be the best versions of themselves. When I was a kid, I love staying active; whether trying out various sports, soaking myself in basketball, playing the guitar or doing arts and crafts. From painting to drawing and to making imaginative art works using daily household items such as toilet paper rolls, coloured paper, colouring pencils, some glue and scissors will be more than enough to stimulate new ideas bring imaginations to life. These are a few activities we can do when providing support for Like Family- as we help stimulate the brain in thinking outside the box, opening our mind through different colours and design, and problem solving with our imagination whilst having fun. I have a passion for interacting with people, making them smile, feeling comfortable and keeping them entertained. I am overall just a people person who love spending time with others. I love getting to know people; where they are from, how they view and see the world, their desires and ambitions. I love listening to the heart longings of individuals and learning about the things that makes them who they are. It is when connecting with people where I also find great fulfilment and learn something new from them. Lastly, I have a heart for people who are in need. Whether people who can't afford to get basic necessities of life such as food or shelter, or people who can't do their everyday tasks. So I want to pursue a career where I am able to make a difference in people's lives whether big or small, to help them in areas they cannot themselves, or just be person who is there for them. I am a people person, really energetic, warm and enthusiastic so I would be able to help in making a person feel comfortable and motivate them to be themselves, look at the positive things in life, strive for what they like and embrace who they are. In my free time, I love drawing houses, buildings, sceneries, drawing up things that haven't been invented or developed yet. I love getting active in working out, playing sports, going for a jog, going or watching movies/tv shows and the occasional ninja warrior gym; where I go through fun obstacle courses and to teach myself to never give up; and when I fail, I just try again.
