About
Hi 👋 My name is Steph 🙋♀️ I have recently joined Like Family after working 2.5years as a Community Aged Care Support Worker. I hold a Certificate III in Individual Support which includes a unit of competency in Disability and I am currently studying my Certificate IV in Ageing Support. I am a mother to an 8 year old neurodivergent boy, and I do take a lot of pride in the 8 years of personal experience I have. I have learnt a lot through the therapy sessions we have attended and I’m more than happy to pass on the information I have learnt. I am empathetic, patient, and culturally aware, allowing me to connect with clients from diverse backgrounds. I am a happy and friendly person and I love to have a laugh. I love baking cakes, cookies and sweet treats. I like to go on adventures and drive to locations I haven't seen before. I like to go out and eat at different restaurants and try different cuisines. I like to attend the cinemas and watch the latest movies. I like to take care of my garden at home, and maintain it regularly. I am great with technology and up to date with the latest gadgets. I have always adored arts and crafts; whether it be colouring in a book, circular knitting, painting or attending plaster painting sessions. I do also enjoy crosswords and puzzle books to keep the brain ticking. I have always been passionate about supporting others, particularly the older generation and neurodivergent children and adults. This includes individuals diagnosed with ASD, ADHD, SPD, GDD, anxiety, depression and other mental health disorders. I enjoy building meaningful relationships with clients and helping them maintain their independence and quality of life. Knowing that I can make a positive impact on someone's day motivates me to pursue a career in social care. 100% guaranteed to make every client smile before the end of their social time with me. Feel free to ask any questions if you have any. 🌻
