Hi 👋 My name is Steph 🙋♀️ I am a mother to a 7 year old boy who is Autistic, and holds other diagnosis'. I have over two years of experience in community-based aged care, alongside four years of office experience in home care. I hold a Certificate III in Individual Support and am currently studying my Certificate IV in Ageing Support. My background in both direct care and administrative roles has given me a well-rounded understanding of the aged care industry. I love baking cakes, cookies and sweet treats. I like to go on adventures and drive to locations I haven't seen before. I like to go out and eat at different restaurants and try different cuisines. I like to attend the cinemas and watch the latest movies. I like to take care of my garden at home, and maintain it regularly. I am great with technology and up to date with the latest gadgets. I have always adored arts and crafts; whether it be colouring in a book, circular knitting, painting or attending plaster painting sessions. I do also enjoy crosswords and puzzle books to keep the brain ticking. I have always been passionate about supporting others, particularly older adults and individuals who need extra assistance. My experience as a Care at Home Officer in aged care and my ongoing studies in Ageing Support at the moment have deepened my understanding of the importance of social connection and person centred care. I enjoy building meaningful relationships with clients and helping them maintain their independence and quality of life. Knowing that I can make a positive impact on someone's day motivates me to pursue a career in social care. I am empathetic, patient, and culturally aware, allowing me to connect with clients from diverse backgrounds. I am a happy and friendly person and I love to have a laugh. My strong communication and problem-solving skills enable me to handle challenges effectively while maintaining a compassionate and person centred approach. 100% guaranteed to make every client smile before the end of their social time with me. Feel free to ask any questions if you have any. 🌻
