I wanted to become a Social Carer because i have a passion for supporting those who are vulnerable and who are in need of assistance and just to help make a difference in a person's everyday life. I would be good in this role because i am empathetic, patient, understanding, i listen, i can offer companionship and i am reliable. Some of my hobbies include keeping fit and healthy. I love my music all the way through from what mum and dad listened to in the 60's to today. I enjoy creating and maintaining gardens and spending as much time as i can with my 2 children. I have completed a Cert III in aged care and disability and also a Cert IV in child, youth and family intervention. While completing my Cert III in Aged Care and Disability i volunteered for a company called Be where i was a companion for an elderly gentleman who i visited every week for 1 hour which sometimes turned into 2 hours. Ray loved Crispie Cream donuts so i would take them as a treat during my visit. Rays wife soon knew i had a sweet tooth and usually baked for when i arrived with a hot cup of tea. I unfortunately finished up with Ray when i returned to Sydney.
