About

Hello! I'm Safia, I am 26 and am currently studying Speech and Hearing Science at Macquarie University. I hope to one day be a speech pathologist or audiologist (both are so interesting... still deciding which path to take!) I have worked as a dental assistant for many years before I figured out that I definitely wanted to go to uni and what I wanted to study. Over those years, I have enjoyed travelling. I explored Lebanon (where I was born), Greece, Vietnam, New Zealand, India, Romania (where my wonderful mother is from), England, France, and Germany. However, I haven't seen enough of Australia so once we are able to leave our homes again I'd love to see more of the country I call home. I also became very interested in cooking and developed an appreciation for the occasional fine dining experience. So if you want a cooking buddy or want to dress up and enjoy a nice meal, I'd love to join you! I'm not amazing in the kitchen (yet) but we can learn together. I am a beekeeping enthusiast, however, due to my current living situation I am unable to have my own beehive. But that doesn't stop me from maintaining native bees (they're stingless so not a nuisance to neighbours) and educating myself and those around me about all things bees and honey. There are community gardens with both native and European honeybee hives that can be visited by the public as well as beekeeping classes, honey tastings, bee-related films, documentaries, and honey-based recipes to keep us occupied on a rainy day as well as bee-inspired crafts to try. But it does not have to be bee or honey-related, those are just some ideas of how I could share an interest of mine with you! I look forward to meeting you!
