About
I am passionate about learning as much as possible about the world and people and hope to do that through the variety of units I pick. I enjoy working with people because I am very compassionate and caring. Being around my friends and family is very important to me as the people around me are inspiring. I am very Intuitive yet sensitive when it comes to dealing with situations, keeping an open mind that will allow me to directly communicate how I feel. I have recently rediscovered the importance of expressing one’s thoughts and feelings in a written, musical, physical or visual way, and I'm passionate about sharing this with people. I am very involved in arts and music and have always loved creative activities and atmospheres. I have been drawn to creative writing since I was 10 years old which led me to write diaries, short stories, poetry, songs and letters, which I continue to express today, sharing my work with loved ones and working towards sharing it with the world. I am very passionate about music as It’s a very important part of how I understand the world around me. I have been dancing since I was 8, feeling a strong connection to my body and music and have been singing and playing the guitar since the middle of high school and since the end of high school have been on and off writing more music and practising more songs which I am performing currently at open mic nights. I am enthralled by the art of yoga as it is very relaxing yet awakening for me as is drawing. I love trying new creative outlets that people around me are fascinated by. Being kind and empathetic to all those around me is something I value deeply. I enjoy connecting with people on many different levels and through many different ways. Connection is a key value of mine that I try to implement in all parts of my life, and I have enjoyed it being a part of my work life. I’ve been working at Eastwood After School Care for seven years and I have loved inspiring the children through different creative activities such as writing, drawing, music and dance. It’s been a moving experience blossoming their abilities to perceive, interact and resonate with their surroundings and passions. After-school care has taught me many skills such as time management, observational skills, multitasking and empathy. As well as problem-solving difficult situations and supporting children with various behavioral issues or disabilities. I have also learnt about Health and Safety precautions and child protection guidelines in close detail which is all knowledge and skills I will bring to this environment. I am also a part of the Like Family community, which assists people with physical and mental disabilities. Each individual client has different needs and goals that need to be met by the support workers. I have assisted clients with daily tasks as well as accompanied them to social events. I have cared for a variety of clients with different disabilities that have required a range of needs. Using my skills and passions, I have done activities with clients they enjoy. I am eager to support, inspire and connect with all kinds of people as it's rewarding, and I am passionate about making a difference. I am a very intuitive and compassionate person when dealing with situations and interacting with people, keeping an open mind that will allow me to communicate, cooperate and participate in a community environment. I am deeply interested in being able to be a part of such communities that are able to help and support people in need.
