Hi my name is Matt. Helping others feel safe and understood is what I believe makes me a reliable hero. My mission is to help those around me to feel confident in reaching their goals. Because of this I prioritise building relationships that are authentic and respectful. When I work with others, I make sure to listen and empathise so that trust is built. With a bachelors degree in psychology and a master in psychotherapy and counselling, I have worked in the mental health field as a counsellor/mental health practitioner. I understand how difficult is if for someone who is going through a challenging time to express their needs and wants. That is why I focus on listening without judgement so that they feel valued and heard. I’ve also worked in the aged care and disability sector for 6+ years. I am experienced in supporting people living with dementia, cognitive decline and reduced mobility. I have also worked with children and their families on this platform for many years. Whether it be mentoring, helping with homework, teaching life skills to sharing stories and having a laugh. I'm confident that I'll be a great support.
