About

Hi, my name is Jaslyn, I am a unique cluster of atoms determined to share everything I've got with this wide world. I am a bubbly, confident and deeply empathetic person with a strong passion for film, plants and women's rights. With experience in working with children with a disability, tutoring children's theatre as well as running science workshops through Questacon, I would love to apply these experiences to support those in my local community to explore their hobbies, interests as well as new adventures! In my past job at Questacon Science Centre, I got to hang out with kids all the time, which is amazing and so rewarding. One day at work we happened to be creating terrariums out of plastic cups. A little boy came over and asked what we were making so I started to explain to him what we were doing and how a terrarium works. I asked him if he knew about the water cycle. He said no. So I explained to him how the water cycle works, and then right there, before my eyes, I saw his mind blow open. And it changed me, because I realised, I mean really realised that we can do that. That I can do that. Open a mind. And what an incredible thing that is. A favourite quote of mine is: "You got this Jaslyn." - My mum (2018)
