About
I’ve always been drawn to helping people feel seen, supported and capable of living their best lives. After years working in communications and community projects in the private and not-for-profit sectors, what truly motivates and energises me now isn’t success or status — it’s connection. I believe loneliness is one of the quietest forms of suffering, and that genuine human connection can be profoundly healing. Whether it’s sharing a story, a laugh, or just being there when someone needs company, those small moments can change how a person feels about themselves and the world around them. My first degree when I left school was in corporate communications and journalism and I've spent most of my life helping other people and organisations communicate and tell their stories. Next year, I'm going back to university to study to become a speech therapist because I want to help people communicate and connect with themselves and those around them at a more fundamental level. I’m patient, reliable and empathetic, with a calm nature and a fairly good sense of humour. I’m passionate about wellbeing, animals, nature and lifelong learning. I’ve studied media, sustainability and social impact, and I’m completing further qualifications to strengthen my ability to support others. Outside of work, I love walking and playing with our 2 small dogs that came into our lives during COVID, exploring new places, cooking healthy meals and helping friends with practical projects. I’m also interested in psychology and personal development — understanding what helps people thrive and find purpose. I'm a bushwalker and nature enthusiast—there's nothing better than a long walk in a park or by the water, followed by a good pub lunch. I love cooking and discovering new restaurants, reading widely, and I'm fascinated by science and environmental issues. I've always been drawn to trying to do what I can to make the world a better place, which is probably why I ended up doing a Masters at Cambridge University in Sustainability while I was living in the UK. Friends often say how open and easy I am to talk to, thoughtful, and bring a positive, calm energy into our relationship. I believe good care is about building trust, finding things to laugh about and not taking things too seriously, which helps when live doesn't always go to plan. I'm someone who genuinely enjoys conversation—whether it's deep discussions about climate policy or just chatting about what makes a perfect coffee. Or equally, sitting calming and quietly with someone. Silence doesn't always need to be filled! I bring a mix of empathy and professionalism from years in people-focused roles. I’m comfortable supporting adults of all ages, including those managing mental-health or social-isolation challenges. I've managed teams across multiple countries, navigated crises, and worked with everyone from UN officials to journalists to investment CEOs, so I'm comfortable in lots of different situations. I'm also at a life stage where I'm now making deliberate choices about personal impact and meaning.
