About
Why would you make a great Social Carer? I love to support other individuals to find fulfilment in their daily lives! A number of the people closest to me have struggled with mental illness including depression and bipolar and I have supported them in various ways within my capabilities. I have also grown up caring for young children including family members or family friends. Due to my life experiences, I have grown to become an incredibly empathetic and caring person with high self-awareness. I have a strong desire to care for other individuals who require extra assistance in their day-to-day. I have been living out of home for a year and have taken on all of the responsibilities that come with moving outside of the family home and living in a new town. I have lots of experience with cooking for a large household, cleaning, grocery shopping, owning a car and paying all relative fees, keeping on time with rent and other payments, and maintaining a happy and healthy household with others. ---- How will you share one of your skills or hobbies with someone in the community? Give an example. I have a number of hobbies that I enjoy and incorporate into my own daily life. For example, I love to go on walks around my neighbourhood or at the nearest beach, followed by going out and trying coffee at a new cafe. I would share this enjoyment with another person in the community if they too enjoy getting outside. I find joy in simple little tasks around the house and prioritise self-care above all else. I often meditate, read and enjoy drawing, painting and colouring in books. I would like to show these things to another person so that they might incorporate activities into their daily lives and find greater fulfilment in the day-to-day. We could sit down and meditate together or paint and draw in the outdoors such as in a nearby community garden. I go to concerts in my free time and if another person I am with also enjoys music and feels comfortable going to a concert I would love to bring them along! Even if it's something simple I like to do things and make the most of the day. Depending on the interests and abilities of another person, I can plan out fun activities that we can do together. I would love to share my various hobbies with another individual, just as I would love to learn new skills from them.
