I’m drawn to disability support work because it’s all about empowering people to live their lives to the fullest. I really value the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on someone’s day-to-day life, whether that’s by assisting with daily tasks or just being there as emotional encouragement and supporting their mental health. Being able to support people’s independence and see their confidence grow is incredibly rewarding. It’s a role that aligns with my commitment to helping others, and my background of nursing. I love baking, especially anything chocolatey! Experimenting with recipes and creating treats to share is also a nice way to relax. I’m also into arts and crafts and shopping to find unique pieces and treat myself.
