Hi guys! I'm looking to support one or two people a week between studying Psychology, and being an assistant at Neta Care-- whether you want a partner to grab a social drink with, someone to help out with light housework, or somebody to entertain a student of any age, I'm happy to find some slots on a consistent casual weekly basis! I have loved supporting people for many years now--from entertaining babbling 4 year olds in chaotic childcare settings, to teaching high school students within structured English & Humanities tutor sessions. I've worked closely with people who experience ASD, ADHD, psychosis, PTSD, & anxiety during my time as a special assistance teacher aide, and Allied Health Assistant at Neta Care. I also often find myself intrigued by the stories that community members of any age share, and would easily enjoy a task-orientated social support role that allows me to listen & exchange stories. Learning new things in general excites me-- and that includes learning about new people! Depending on our dynamic & your needs, I can be an excitable talker, or a calm, insightful confident. I enjoy celebrating the small wins with those I work beside. Building a sense of ease and trust also brings me great satisfaction. Interests: If you want to learn ballroom dance, I can provide tips and organize excursions to a local dance program. (It's one of my favourite hobbies). If you're interested in writing a book, I could provide some editing skills, or maybe even be your ghost writer; perhaps we could write creative pieces together as an exercise... I love excursions to natural landscapes and waterfalls etc., and will be energized by short hikes as well as calm trips to the park with pets. Books/ music/ movies/ shows are good for relaxation, too. :) In general, I have found that simply assisting with household chores and being adaptable to others needs can help everyone feel comfortable. Just let me know what your goals are and we'll work on that. As ever, I'm open to suggestions and looking forward to meeting you. Many thanks! -Kayla.
