About
I have a big charisma with people and I consider myself open minded in all aspects of life at any stage. I'm a mother of 2 boys ( 23yr & 14yr ) and I was raised in a big family unit with many and strong values. I was always involved in looking after some of my relatives back home and having direct care, including my own father, who got gradually and then completely blind due to his diabetes and linked health issues. Having the chance to assist, It developed inside me a second nature to swift myself at their side and their needs. I consider myself a very compassionate but overall things, a very humble person. I get great joy in helping others and am always ready to serve the best I can in any circumstance. I understand many situations in life, because I was born in the Caribbean and even I come from a big family that has given me with many things in life, I also lived around people in much need, teaching me how to validate what we have. I learnt the importance of volunteering and giving back. I volunteer in many places to offer help. From my local church to Unicef or Peace Corps etc, delivering and visiting sick and homeless people. It means the world for those in need. I was lucky enough to rebuild my life in 4 Continents. Had lived in Dominican Republic (hometown) in the Caribbean, United States, Argentina, New Zealand, Netherlands and Australia. Some casual long stays in Germany. I learnt about different cultures and way of living along the path and I have avast knowledge in all kind of things from household to put hands on on tasks. I will be a great fit for this role because I'm just good with people and I love to help and feel that I'm doing something good for someone, not only for myself. I had the chance in the Netherlands ( where I lived for 9 years before moving to Australia in 2018) to also helped in a dutch program similar to what NDIS does. I have worked for international organisations ( United Nations - Unicef in New Zealand and the Dominican Republic, Peace Corps - US) and I also travelled to remote areas to help communities. I will love to help anyone or as many people as I can. I'm an architect myself and I also have a degree on International Relations, European studies, but serving others and working with people is my second nature. I'm on a stage of my life where I would like to make a change and give a different direction. Maybe this can be a starting point for serving and helping and creating something great for all parties involved. My mother looked after 4 members of my family all the way until the very end. How important it is to be there for them, is still a strong value. I help many friends, for example on working holiday visas, by providing guidance on how to settle in Australia, rent a house, and get them running in their daily life. Im always reachable when they need me and I combine what we have based on our local system and what I have on my own experience to share. I have to say that Life has taken me through a big journey that still rolling and providing the good things I learnt with others is a joy. It's very gratifying to help others and be able to assist at any time. I just know I will be very very good at this and mostly I will get the best part its the gratification to combine work help for myself - with a care and support for those one's who are in need. We have many different skills and I can help from painting ( easy techniques for non-painting person) to install softwares, teach how to use any PC/MAC computers. Help with debates, news, shoppings best deals research etc. I can organise garage sells, help them arrange their houses. I can help them set up devices ( I used to worked for Apple giving support at Robina in the Gold Coast) and I have patience for teaching methods or guide them. I play tennis ( used to be a professional tennis player) so I can teach them. But most of all, I can teach anything upon my reach. I will gladly join any new sport or activity to share and be art of a team.
