Hi there! My name is Celine Carolan and I am a primary school teacher from Ireland. I am a very caring , helpful and emphatic person. I grew up in a bed and breakfast where I loved helping my parents and meet different people who stayed in our home . I always wanted to make sure they felt comfortable and at home in our house. I started playing music at a young age and began teaching my brothers and people in my community. I loved opening people to new experiences and helping them learn new skills. As a pre teen I would come home from school and head to my neighbours to help the younger children with their homework. I knew teaching was the path I would take. I graduated from university in 2021 with a bachelor of education degree. I loved learning about education and went back to further my studies and graduated with a diploma in advanced education. Since then I’ve worked in various roles and different schools both here in Ireland and Australia (NSW, QLD). I’ve worked as a teacher and a teacher aid in numerous special educational schools where I’ve supported individuals with complex needs. During the summers in Ireland I participated in the home based provision programme provided by the Department of Education where I would work 1:1 or in small group settings with individuals with disabilities. It is a brilliant programme that supports not only the individual but the family of the individual too. Some of the focuses would be social skills , organisational skills or practising becoming independent on everyday tasks. I have a deep passion for supporting and encouraging individuals and I always looked forward to the summer for this reason. I am quite a creative and musical person. I play the piano, guitar and sing. As a teacher I always introduce music some way in the classroom each day where possible as I believe there are countless benefits to it. During Covid I completed an online level 5 course in music therapy and it is something I hope to continue to learn about in the future. Here in Australia I have babysat for families where a child in the family has a disability . I always converse with the family and make sure I’m aware of what works best for their child. I am a very determined and hardworking person and I will always give 100percent. If you have any questions please send me a message!
