About

Hey there, I'm Steph! 👋 I'm passionate about connecting with people and empowering them to achieve their goals. Growing up in a large family, I was always surrounded by people, but I lacked a prominent role model, which impacted my self-esteem and confidence. This led me to push myself out of my comfort zone after school, developing strong interpersonal and professional skills, initially in customer service and hospitality. Now, I'm driven to contribute more significantly to the community and give back. My personal experiences, including supporting my Dad through difficult times and caring for my niece and nephew, have deepened my empathy and exposed me to a diverse range of people. I genuinely love to help others and have a natural ability to motivate and inspire. As a Certified Fitness Professional for two years, I pursued my mission to motivate others to feel happy and good about themselves on a larger scale. Since late 2021, I've been dedicated to providing support, which has been an incredibly rewarding experience. I have extensive experience assisting individuals with diverse needs, including those who are blind, have autism, and other challenging behaviors. My work involves providing personalised care and support, implementing person-centred approaches, and assisting with daily activities, community access, and personal care. I've consistently driven positive outcomes through the application of person-centred care principles and evidence-based support practices. I'm adept at implementing creative solutions for mobility and communication challenges, enhancing clients' quality of life and community participation. My roles have also involved monitoring vital signs and administering medication under supervision, maintaining accurate medical records, and detailed documentation of care plans and client progress. I partner with family members and medical professionals to implement care plans and ensure comprehensive client monitoring. I've also focused on fostering independence through specialised care techniques, enabling clients to achieve personal milestones, and improving client mobility and daily living skills through consistent implementation of occupational therapy recommendations and exercise programmes. It's invigorating to see the people I support smash their goals. Witnessing people succeed and persevere, no matter their circumstances, truly brings a smile to my face. This resonates deeply with me, as I've experienced moments in my life where I needed help and was profoundly touched by those who offered it, which has truly opened my heart. Beyond direct support, I have also contributed to creating positive learning environments, both for students and children. I've managed enrollment processes and maintained student records, providing administrative support and facilitating effective communication within educational settings. I've partnered with teaching staff to create enriching activities and introduced creative learning activities that enhanced student engagement and social skills development. For younger children, I've led dynamic fitness programmes, fostering physical development and healthy habits through engaging activities and games, creating inclusive learning environments promoting teamwork and confidence. I'm simply interested in getting to know anyone. I always provide an empathetic ear and love to meet and connect with different people. Everyone is free to live their life how they want, and we need more of that! If you want to know more, just ask me. So… what are you waiting for!? If you would like a buddy to listen, talk, hang, or walk with, or have a coffee, please don't hesitate to message me, let's connect. I'm thrilled about our journey ahead together!
