Hey Guys, My name is Alex, I am 26 years of age and I have been a Social Carer at LikeFamily for 2 years. Like Family have given me the opportunity to work around Sydney as an independent support worker which I am very grateful for. The reason I hopped into this role was because I wanted to give back to a city that welcomed me into open arms and made me feel like I belonged somewhere. I have gained a handful amount of experience providing companionship, helping with day-to-day routines, meal prepping, going on outdoor activities and adventuring. Across all ages and through different unique individuals I have been able to learn about different peoples life experiences and been able to apply my skills and interests in offering an enjoyable and valuable experience to them. I take a lot of pride in my work as a Social Carer and I am always eager and invested to listen to a clients needs and wants (through communicating with them and their support network) and being able to tailor a program or activity that matches it. Whether it's building independence, access to the community or just having a nice chat at a park. A little bit about ME I love going to the gym - I am currently working part-time with LikeFamily while also studying to become a personal trainer.
