About

Hello, nice to meet you. My name is Pia. I like doing yoga, outdoor activities, learning about spiritual matters, travelling and healthy cooking, walking through parks and beaches, exploring new places with amazing views in Australia. My background professional career is occupational therapy. I have worked 11 years as an occupational therapist in my country (Chile). I worked in a child rehabilitation center called Teleton, in a rehabilitation center of the Chilean army, in private rehabilitation centers and my own private home therapy services. In all of them, the most important objective was to help people improve their skills and increase their autonomy and independence in all activities of daily life. My specialization and greatest experience were working with children (sensory integration specialization). My experience is children with autism, newborns, cerebral palsy and children with delayed psychomotor development. My working experiences in Australia have been working as a support worker and Allie health assistant for more than 4 years in a clinical setting, community based and NDIS. These jobs are the closest thing to my career (OT), helping people in their daily life environment, it is my passion and big vocation. I am very excited in my next challenge, being an occupational therapist in Australia. I am studying for my OT exams and Academic English test. I move back from Northen rivers 1 week ago, I was working in Gold Coast helping to set up an Occupational Therapy clinic. I am flexible at the moment and happy to help and coordinate times to work for both.
