I love helping and connecting with people, I have a son who has a disability and his support workers inspired me to become a carer. I have a couple of friends and family members who also receive support and realise how important it is to have this type of support available to those who seek it. I am an empathetic and compassionate person, I really enjoy companionship and value time spent with others. ^& ^&Participate in community events such as markets or festivals. We could attend workshops and classes at community centres, local clubs or independent organisations, perhaps arrange meet ups with like minded people. For instance if the participant was to take interest in one of my hobbies or interests (let’s say basketball) I could organise to either take them to a basketball court to teach them the rules and show them how to bounce and shoot the ball in the hoop or I could take them to watch a local game (depending on their preference or abilities). I am very client and goal focused so can accommodate whatever the participant requests and find an activity accordingly without difficulty. ^&
