I wanted to become a social carer because I believe that the job of a carer is a rewarding one as it gives the opportunity to help disabled people. When I was a child, my grandmother developed a degenerative disease. I saw how my mother helped her and took care of her. As I grew up, I understood that helping others was my calling, just like my mother. I am empathetic in nature and committed to providing the best service to patients. I have a strong passion for helping individuals live their lives to the fullest despite challenges. I’ve volunteered at CACC Church Spring Vale and local community centre for the past two years, which sparked my interest in pursuing a career as a support worker. I’m motivated by the opportunity to make a positive impact on people’s lives and Now, I make time to play piano and cello every week. I also enjoy photography and puzzles. These activities help me feel restored. I become so focused on what I’m doing that my brain has time to rest. I remove myself from the stress of everyday life. My mind enters a relaxed state where ideas pop into my head. An interesting fact about me is ever since I was a teenager, I’ve loved helping and caring for people. I’m motivated by seeing the people who I help smile. During my time at school, I volunteered at a community centre where people with different disabilities come to have fun and socialise. Because of this, I knew I wanted to pursue this as a career. I understand I may face challenges some days but my passion to help people keeps me moving forward.
