I am friendly, open to trying anything, and very easy going as well (: My sister has a huge role in inspiring me to work with people with disabilities! As I venture into the world of healthcare, I believe being a social carer will help me gain greater insights in working with different people. Sometimes I feel my mom instincts acting out, especially when someone needs care (e.g. when they're sick, get drunk, in need of some companionship). As an international student, I haven't had much exposure to the Melbourne culture as well as different sights, so having a friend to explore Melbourne would be amazing. I dabble in things here and there, and am not an expert in everything so it was tough filling up the hobbies form above. That being said, I do like to experience new things! I've been working towards immersing myself in the now and marvel in the wonders of the world and people! ^& ^&One of my hobbies is playing sports in general. It doesn't matter if I am a complete newbie at the sport, or am terrible at it, I just go for it! I think I would try to gauge their interest in different types of sports -- maybe they're more into ball sports, or perhaps water sports! When first starting the sport, for example jogging (which is my go-to sport here in Melbourne), we can start with picking a nice area that interests them. When we get to the location, we might do some stretches and a walk to warm up the body before starting our jog. When jogging, it is important to start at a pace they're comfortable with, and if it is too fast for me, I'll let them know if I truly am unable to catch up. It is important to listen to your body and not over exert yourself. The wonders of jogging for me are being able to feel the fresh air in your lungs and the sunlight (if you're lucky) on your skin. In addition, the scenic Melbourne is a lovely sight to see while jogging. As we jog, if they're feeling up for it, we can talk about things we see or jam to some music! When they need a break, we will take one. If we see an ice cream stand, we might just indulge in some creamy sweetness! I believe getting someone into a sport requires them to have fun. The session will be catered towards them, and they'll steer the boat. I'll be the side crew helping them and encouraging them along the way (:^&
