Hi, my name is Molly, Tell us why you would make a great Hero. When I saw this job on Indeed, I knew immediately it was something I'd love to do - that I would find not only incredibly rewarding, but also completely inspiring. I also believe it is exactly the kind of responsibility I've been working up to my whole life. When I was in grade six, I completed the Rotary award. Earning this certificate, I volunteered at a local nursing home, talking and listening to the residents' stories, helping them with their daily routines, and helping out the catering team at meal times. From the age of 11 until I was 18, I spent most of my time dedicated to the scouting movement. I would be hiking every other weekend, and volunteering in between. My time in scouts has truly made me the person I am today. During this time, I was fortunate enough to achieve not only my Scout Medallion, but also my Queen Scout Award. I believe it is the experience and knowledge I have gained in this time that would make me an interesting, reliable and creative Hero. I have had more opportunity than most to develop good interpersonal skills, organisation capabilities, and the ability to remain calm when improvising in surprising and new situations. I'm confident in many outdoor activities such as cycling, rock climbing, abseiling, canoeing and of course camping, as well as more domestic tasks such as cooking, baking, cleaning, and generally making spaces comfortable and homely. I learn quickly, which allows me make sure I'm prepared, and adapt if I need to - an asset I'm truly grateful for. I'm also fortunate enough to have travelled a fair amount in my life. My Dad being from a military background, I've travelled many places with my family, and as a young adult I was lucky enough to travel all around Australia, and my visit what is now my favourite place in the whole world, Norway. Since finishing high school and completing my time in the scouts, Ive been studying a degree in music in Melbourne at Collarts (Australian College of the Arts). Music is the centre of my life and I can't imagine a world without it. My mind has always favoured the arts, and writing music that others can connect to is all I hope to do one day. Though I am at University, it is only part time, and I can't see it hindering this wonderful opportunity. I love people, and I love helping people. The most fulfilling experiences of my life have been when I'm volunteering and contributing to someone else's life. I would say any Hero would feel the same. I'm blessed to have so many different tools under my belt, and I believe my versatility, along with my imagination and dedication, are the virtues that would allow me to provide a fun and dependable companion. Tell us how you will share one of your skills or hobbies to help someone in our community. This is a tricky questions for me to answer, as I have many hobbies. I enjoy making earrings, embroidering, sewing, painting, photography, make-up, and absolutely most of all, music. Music, in my eyes, is everyones language. It doesn't matter who you are, where you're from, the language you speak anything. So long as you can hear, you can connect to it. It's versatility is limitless, and can turn even the most difficult of days into a new favourite memory. There is so much to do with music and how it is shared - from simply listening to an album, to learning a new instrument, to writing and creating music together, it is an unimaginably powerful and magical phenomenon that welcomes everyone.
