About
I want to become a Social Carer because I love to Help people and genuinely Care for their well-being. I am Super Compassionate. I thrive in being a part of someone's personal growth and enjoy helping people achieve their Goals. I'm a good listener and attentive to people's needs. I worked as a volunteer in youth foster care and residential support for children. As a lead Tenant, I provided around the clock care for young individuals aged 16-18. As a mentor, I aimed to teach them vital independent living skills such as home management, budgeting and general life skills, which would hopefully prepare them for adulthood. I don't have experience in Support Care, but I have experience with people in general. I've been a Warehouse Supervisor for most of my working life (self retired now) and therefore I thrived I helping my co-workers with personal growth. Anyone can teach someone how to pack boxes, but I loved engaging in teaching/guiding my younger co-workers about life and the importance of good decision making (as I do with my own children). Also, playing in a band for may years, I encountered many different personalities, some who hired us and others who came to watch us play. Life is delicate so it's important how you treat people and I learnt a great deal during that period of my life. My biggest Passion/hobby is Music. Ive played over 4000+ gigs at some of Melbourne's iconic venues, including some Television performances such as: The Royal Melbourne Children's Hospital Good Friday Appeal, Hey Hey it's Saturday and Pot of Luck, just to name a few! I would love to somehow incorporate/introduce music into my Support work, whether it be playing for a group of clients or for my own client. Music is a healer. I'm a problem solver, logical thinker and Spiritually minded. I also hold a Reiki 1 Certificate. Born in Australia in an Italian family of five children, I speak Italian which could come in handy in some situations. I lived in Italy for 4 years from 2018-2022. I love cooking Italian food! I love drawing, writing and especially love watching movies (I wanted to be an actor when I was younger!). I'm very organised, clean and a calm person. I love learning from life experiences and am always self-growing/learning.
