About
For the last 20+ years I have supported family members with disabilities, predominantly Autism. I have found this so incredibly rewarding and learned so much that being a Social Carer has become my new career. I’m currently a keyboard player/programmer for 2 bands so I’m a big fan of 80s keyboard pop music, most music really. Science fiction is a bit of a passion, along with True Crime shows and I should probably add family and pets! I’m also experimenting with cooking lately, trying to add a little variety to my life…mostly successful. I love meeting new people and sharing their stories, we all have so much to teach each other. I think you can turn any skill or hobby into an adventure if you use a bit of imagination. Reading, for example, could involve anything from reading with or to someone, to debating interpretations of books in a book-club type fashion and deciding if the movie version was better or worse, to a trip to a bookstore and coffee shop or to a big day out at the State Library and a great lunch.
