I have worked as a support care worker for almost two years now and it has honestly been a life changing experience. I went into the job with a mentality of how I can help and assist clients and I never expected them to have such a positive impact on my life as well. I have developed the skill to create a healthy rapport with basically any type of client young or older and all sorts of different disabilities. I have enjoyed being able to assist my clients with community access activities as well as make them feel like I am a friend and not just a carer.^& ^&I would get to know them first and see what common interests we have, from there I would use those common interests and incorporate them into how I plan my days and activities with them.^&
