I am mature aged and worked for two years as a Disability Support Worker in Brisbane before moving up here to the Sunshine Coast hinterland at the end of 2023. After completing my Certificate 3 in Individual Support in 2021, I joined Centacare and over the period of two years, I was fortunate to meet and make friends with many varied clients, assisting them to enjoy life and to achieve their goals and wishes. I consider myself to be a happy person and particularly enjoy social outings - there is so much to offer here on the Sunshine Coast. I love bush and beach walking, listening to music, going to Church, watching movies, pets, travel, all sorts of things and I would enjoy sharing those interests with other people.^& ^&While getting to know a new client, I would ask them what their interests or hobbies are, and if I also have some experience or expertise, would ask the person if they would like to pursue those interests with me. It's not about my interests, it is about theirs. At the same time, I may be able to introduce them to new aspects of life if they show an interest. In both cases, I would be happy to research for opportunities and present them for the client to make a choice. ^&
