I have always helped people around me as I have close relatives who have been affected by chronic fatigue, schizophrenia, dementia and depression. I left France in my early twenties to visit New Zealand and Australia and... I'm still here! When travelling, I realised that no matter where I go or what I do, I find myself helping someone with 'health-related things', so I decided to do that as a job. My professional experience is with someone with Down syndrome. Indeed, I started volunteering to help a lovely man with Down syndrome but ended up really enjoying it and finally working with him as his main disability support worker for 5 years. Generally, I love understanding how people think and function to truly interact with them. Most of all, I easily sympathise with others, enjoy listening to and supporting them, and of course, have fun. I like to take people out but also to simply listen to them and spend time with them. Bushwalking can be a good way to do both, but I’m also happy to chat while pottering around at home or go out on little trips in the city.
