I am a person who is reliable, driven, positive and empathetic. As a support worker, I focus on a person-centred approach, empowerment, support, and companionship to people from all walks of life who need a helping hand. Before joining community services, I worked in hospitality for seven years. However, I decided that in 2021, I needed change. I wanted to work in an industry where I could be there for people, not just behind a counter, but in a career where I could make a difference in someone’s day, no matter how big or small. The core values important to me in this line of work are honesty, respect, dignity, compassion and patience. I use these values to help me build and maintain rapport and trust towards people I work with. Each person I work with is unique, and I do not apply a “one size fits all approach”.
