My elder brother is intellectually handicapped, one of my daughters is autistic and my mother used a wheelchair for 10 years following her stroke. My patient, calm nature works well with people with a disability. I’ve worked over 1000 hours in disability support, mainly for people with autism or schizophrenia, but to a lesser extent for people with ABI, stokes, low intellect and vision impairment. Ive been helping an NDIS recipient achieve their driver's license. He's been driving my car while I give advice from a passenger seat. It's been great to see his confidence grow!
