I have always had a passion for helping others, especially those who are in need. As a remedial massage therapist by trade, one of the most rewarding parts of the job is being able to aid clients through their injuries and pains to help them become happier and healthier individuals. However it has also taught me that taking a genuine interest in the client's life and well being and creating a space where they feel heard, safe and connected, is just as important as the physical treatment itself. This knowledge has motivated my desire to make a valuable contribution to the community and support individuals in various aspects of their lives. I am a patient, kind caring, and down to earth person and would love to continue my passion for helping others by becoming a Social carer. I enjoy being outdoors, going to the beach, walking/running, going to the gym, playing sport (mostly league tag), going for coffee with friends and family, listening/ discovering new music - going to live gigs or festivals and on the rainy days where that's not possible you'll find me inside baking, knitting, doing a puzzle or sitting down with a nice cup of tea and watching a good movie or TV show. An interesting fact about me is that I am a Remedial Massage Therapist! I see clients in a private clinic and work alongside a variety of sporting teams. I also provide support work once a week for a woman who is wheelchair bound and suffers from other health concerns including anxiety, vision problems and epilepsy. The main tasks involve assisting with grocery shopping, taking the dog for walks, cooking/baking and general tidiness of the house as well as being there for extra company. I currently don't have any qualifications relating to disability or support work but am willing to obtain any if necessary.
