About
I have worked in retail some over 24 years and what I enjoyed the most about what I did was working with both internal and external customers. I enjoyed mentoring and upskilling teenagers and young adults into becoming the leaders of tomorrow. I enjoyed serving and assisting customers, providing exceptional service and a human touch in a society more and more reliant on technology. I am the youngest of three children and taking care of people all started when my mother was diagnosed with renal failure. You don't know what tragedy and pain are until they hit close to home. My mother needed dialysis 3 days a week 4 - 5 hours a day, on a good day. Although it pulled our family closer together one quickly appreciates what it involves taking care of people. We had highs being able to go on holiday and being able to get treatment while on holiday and we had many a low - the one was when her after having a kidney donor transplant, her system rejected it. What I learned out of that experience is the appreciation of life and all it dishes up at all, so be kind share a smile, and give a helping hand no matter what your own personal circumstances are. I came across people all fighting their own battles, yet always willing to chat, share a joke just to make someone else smile. I just want to help others, make their lives a little easier. Give back a little. I take my kids to the park 2/3 time a week, there is a futsal court at the park, down the road from where we live. Normally we would run some drills and play a game at the end. I always ask any kids playing at the park if they would like to join, they always do. So I let kids have fun, learn from their peers and not be feel if something is being pushed down(being forced) onto them. The kids love feeling a part of, being involved, I know first hand how it feels moving to another country not knowing anyone, not having any friends. So if there is one thing I want to teach my kids and others is to always be inviting - inviting others to be a part of. To never feel that they don't belong.
