From a young age it’s always been second nature for me to assist and raise others upward in life by offering mental, physical, emotional and spiritual assistance. Having a large Neuro diverse family has been a incredible blessing to me as it’s taught me a better sense of self awareness and to uncondition myself on how life should work. The qualities I have gained within myself include being able to show empathy and understanding to others wants and needs as well as really hearing their journey and what they’re asking for to be able to move forward or simply get through that particular day. I’m a positive and creative person who thrives on challenges when presented to be able to bring out the best in any situation. Over the years I used the festive seasons to bring community together by running classes in ginger bread house making as well as organising charity drives and doing volunteer work through offering a pick up/ drop off service for church services. I enjoy teaching life skills immensely. Some of my children and step children has reached their teenage years and it’s a incredible feeling when they achieve cooking a meal for the family ( which is no small task as there is 9 of us to cook for) or witnessing them achieve housework, grocery shopping, public transportation. I have a good understanding within the lgbt+ community and support people in being authentic to themselves. Life is to be lived. So wether it’s attending appointments to heighten your quality of health and life or trying new things, I approach it all with a positive attitude. Key factors I would be aware of and accomodate to with members - Their physical health Their mental health Additional needs Appropriation of conversation Sensory awareness I would use my thoughtfulness, preparation and knowledge of the community member to make the trip a positive experience
