About

Hi, my name is Rene, A bit about me...I am friendly, outgoing, caring, empathetic. I love communicating with people, learning about someone's story and finding a way to connect with them. As a retired professional cricketer I have played in many teams with varying personalities. I always found it important to get to know each and every individual, what it takes to motivate them and how I can be a part of that. Towards the back end of my career I enjoyed being a mentor for the younger players coming through, ensuring they felt comfortable within the team and to be a voice when needed. Throughout my working career I have delivered sports programs to a range of people across varying age groups, backgrounds, abilities and skill levels. For me there is nothing more rewarding than an individual learning a new skill or getting enjoyment for trying something different. In between my training and playing commitments and until recently passing away in December, for years I helped my 98y/o Grandma with housework, groceries and doctors appointments. We would often go out for lunch as well and I loved every minute of it!! I love cooking and while I am no Masterchef I believe memories in the kitchen can last a lifetime and can be passed on from generation to generation. Preparing a meal with someone requires communication, teamwork and at the end of it all you can share what you have created. After gaining an understanding of what dietary requirements an individual has, I would suggest we find a recipe together, write a list and head to the grocery store then share tasks in creating the meal.
