I have previously been a teacher and a counselor back in my country and worked with teenagers and pre teens. It was a life-changing experience for me. I started engaging with the community and the parents back then. It helped me grow as a person and as a professional. Working a year and a half as a carer has helped me grow exponentially and learn about people and life in a meaningful. I learned to exercise empathy and become a good listener. All of these would help me at my work as a carer and provide the best support possible for the clients. My passion is to work with people, listen to their stories and understand life better. I am always thinking of how things can be better for the less-advantaged and how we can build a better community for all. My dream is to someday create something that will help everyone build a safer, comfortable community. I am a support worker, have been for one and a half years. I also teach English part-time. I am pursuing my social worker degree at ACAP. I can drive and I have good English. My hobbies include writing and listening to music and reading books. I love learning new things. I believe I am a good listener and understand people's perspective well. My social worker degree, that I am pursuing has helped me grasp the value of the work that I am doing and the contributions we can make to help make lives better for other people. I am a safe driver and my car is fully insured. I have worked with clients from a diverse set of backgrounds and different forms of disabilities be it dementia, paraplegia, autism and more. I believe my skills and experiences have only made me more curious as a learner and responsible as a worker.
