I was born in the Philippines, in our country we love being with people and being friends with them. I studied Cert IV in Disability and did my 120 hours of placement. During my placement, I never feel I was working because I was enjoying being with the residents I was working with. I enjoyed engaging with them, cooking food for them, taking care of them, and giving them the support they need for their daily living like personal hygiene and feeding. And learning new things from them is a plus. They gave me inspiration and vice versa. Most importantly, I have a 3-year-old son who has a rare condition called Lymphangioma. Doctors diagnosed the condition when I was pregnant. We persisted with the pregnancy and he was born through exit-labour [only the 6th one in Australia]. After the Delivery, he was in NICU for 83 days. During this time we were supported by this country, by the system, by the health infrastructure, by healthcare professionals, and by the Social worker. I am indebted to this system forever and I wish to give back what I received. I have the patience, compassion, and the right attitude to be a social carer and I believe this will make me a great social carer. I am an organised person and I like to keep my place clean and tidy. Also, I cook different cuisine and sometimes watch a good programme on the tele. I enjoy a walk with my family and friends and love to tag along with my husband for fishing. Being an IT Professional, I can share some basic computer skills if needed. Also, I can engage them in cooking and baking too.
