Growing up in Cooma, a tight-knit community, has ingrained in me the importance of community support. This sense of belonging and mutual aid has helped me shape my understanding of the importance of empathy and helping those around me. My experience coaching soccer and teaching new skills to younger community members has reinforced these qualities, showing me the impact of mentorship and personal growth. I would love to expand my experience in support work and help members of my new community!^& ^&I love the outdoors and have experience with a range of sports. Sharing one of my skills such as surfing would be of keen interest to me. I have access to multiple beginner surfboards and the knowledge of common mistakes through teaching friends. Although this requires a member of the community to be comfortable in the ocean and a strong swimmer other beach activities such as beach volleyball or soccer only require an open mind! Furthermore my experience with surfing has given me a strong knowledge of hidden beaches which could be paired with a destination hike and picnic.^&
