Hi my name is Lucienne Baeta and I'm 54 years old , single with two adult sons. I believe I'd make a great hero as i am a people person. I worked for Australia Post for eighteen years and wanted to work in a different field where it would be more challanging. I left Australia Post to become a live in Carer for an elderly couple with the husband being very sick in Cobbitty.Fred had a colostomy bag and a stroke, so i cared for him changed the bags , showered and dressed him daily prepared food and whatever was needed and also helped his wife with all the house hold chores and maintaining there swimming pool. Put logs in there fire place fed all there pets and that lasted six months then the gentleman got revered and they both recovered well and the wife told me i wasn't needed anymore. I was gutted but I'm a ferm believer when one door shuts another one will open. I decided i really liked being a carer it was so rewarding. From that door closing i decided to do my first aid certificate, police check , working with childrens check and I've just completed certificate three in aged care and independent living. I have been working for Australian Unity now for the past year as a home care worker. I drive around in my car and do services for clients, services vary from domestic assistance to personal care and social support taking clients shopping, movies, clubs and other outings which include respites. I really enjoy that part of the job the best but i also do whatever I'm required to do on my roster mobile in the Procura App. I host some clients out of bed onto wheel chairs or comon chairs to shower and do whatever the service requires. I peg feed some clients, change their depend wear. I would really love to be a hero as this job sounds more on a one on one basis which i feel i am more confortable and confident in doing , as i love to chat and laugh with the clients, certain ones keep asking for me to do there services but i tell them all we must share across our team members. My work is a 30 hour contract work per fortnight. When i saw this on the notice board i said to myself this definitely sounds like my dream job which i would love. You never know till you try hench why I'm applying for this job to be a hero buddy friend to anyone who wishes to give me a go. I'm very proud in achieving these certificates , firt aid, childrens check, police check and Cert 111 in independent age care living which i have just complete. I have also just recently been Travel Trained By Dr Desiree Gallimore MAPS M.A ( Psych ) M.A ( Deaf/ Comm ) PhD, MBA Psychologist / Director. I'm very proud how I've been going with my home care careers job and that clients keep requesting me to do there services. I'm very proud how i always manage to make people laugh with me, and can strike a conversation with complete strangers on my paths of life, wherever i may be shopping at the local pool or just walking around the park , when i travel on a day trip stop for a coffee and sure enough I'm chatting with whom maybe next to me. I'm also really proud in upgrading my car last three months as i needed a newer car as there is so much driving with this home carer job and my other car was eighteen years old and i saved hard to buy it out right without a loan. I am also proud that in the last two weeks i manage to get my pass port for the next ten years. I'm also very proud how I've raised my sons on my own and my first son is now a teacher in the school i enrolled him in. I'm very proud how i can manage my working life and personal life with a balance and to still have some me time when required. I'm proud how i manage to make time for all my family members and my friends. I'm proud of being able to speak Malthese more fluently. I'm extremly proud how i manage myself with what life throws my way. I'm proud how i always want to give any thing a try to acheive and acheive it well. My favourite quote of mine is: If first not succeed try try again. Never ever give up.
