My mother passed away 8 months ago at age 89 after being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease when she was 80. I witnessed the steady decline in her quality of life and it made me realise the importance of care, companionship and compassion during this difficult and stressful time. I would like to be of help to people who need a little assistance whilst retaining their independence and dignity. I’m patient, kind, empathetic and a great listener. I recently became a first time grandmother so I’m enjoying this new phase of my life. I like going on walks, cooking and playing the odd game of tennis. I also like playing Scrabble with my daughter. I enjoy the wisdom of senior members of our community and love hearing all about their life journey. My work experience has been in medical administration and although satisfying, I am seeking something more rewarding when it comes to work. To make a small, yet positive difference to someone’s life.
