About
I am eager to work as a social carer as I would love to be able to make a positive impact in the work I am doing whilst finishing my university degree. I have worked at RPA hospital for over 4 years as both an assistant in nursing and a ward assistant and I am very keen to apply the skills I acquired in a more personal setting. Working in the hospital has given me experience with a range of patients and illnesses and has taught me to help and support people with compassion and humility. I am extremely passionate about getting outside, I particularly enjoy walking/hiking, camping and swimming. I am in my last year of a science/mechanical engineering degree, so I love all things related to building, learning, problem solving, etc. An interesting fact about me is I went to a bilingual/bicultural primary school with deaf students and became fluent in AUSLAN. I have since lost my fluency but can remember a few signs to get me by!
