About

Hi, my name is Michelle, I think I would make a great hero because I have a kind and empathetic nature. I have spent the last 14 years dedicating my life to caring for my 3 children. In this time, I have realised that this is my passion - caring for and helping other people. I genuinely care about others, and am always mindful of helping friends and other people in the community, doing random acts of kindness when I can see help is needed. I am interested in people and love making connections with others in the real world. I am a very patient person and I am not judgemental about people, and I would work well with a wide range of people. I have volunteered throughout the years at my children's schools, and have a very giving nature. I have a happy bubbly personality and a great sense of humour, and feel that I could brighten someone's day. If I'm helping someone, and they are not in the best mood, I understand this and do not take it personally. I would love the challenge of meeting new people and assisting them in whatever ways are required. I recently completed a Tafe course in Business Administration Skills. This was a huge achievement for me, as I hadn't completed any study since 2003 - before I had my children. Technology has changed a lot in that time, and I wasn't sure I had the computer skills required to complete the course work, so I was not feeling the most confident. However, I decided to get out of my comfort zone, and just give it a go. It was a big thing for me to walk into the classroom for the first time in fourteen years, to do something which I wasn't sure I had the skills to do. I attended all the classes, and simply asked for help when I didn't understand something. I really enjoyed networking with others in the class, and I felt really proud of myself for accomplishing this, at the same time as learning new skills. Since then, I have developed the confidence to learn new computer skills such as getting my first email address and navigating the Internet, which I hadn't previously done. A favourite quote of mine is: "Be the change you want to see in the world" - Gandhi
