I am passionate about supporting and encouraging others to bring their dreams to life. I value independence, being fully present in another person's company, and living in the moment. I enjoy experimenting and learning new skills, being open to the adventure of the experience, and solving problems with creativity and resourcefulness. There have been times in my life when I wished for a co-pilot to get through the day, to share the enjoyment of an experience or to witness an achievement. As your co-pilot, I will take the time to understand your aspirations and listen to understand your needs. I will respect your choices and can draw on my diverse life experiences to offer guidance when needed. I am open to trying new activities and sharing new experiences with a smile on my face. Growing up on a small farm in Queensland, taught me a range of practical life skills from animal care, to growing vegetables. From a young age, I had to be responsible and resourceful. I worked part-time jobs (picking fruit, waitressing, and teaching classical ballet to younger children) to pay for my secondary and tertiary education. At 16, I lived for a year in Sri Lanka as an exchange student which I self-funded through part-time work. This experience opened my mind to a world of possibility, and different cultures. From this life-defining experience, I learnt to navigate everyday tasks in spite of cultural, social and language barriers. For nearly 20 years, I worked in various Human Resources roles. I was an advocate for employees; designed and implemented programs for employee development and managed projects to improve work processes and company policies. Towards the end of my corporate career, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. MS has gifted me with the wisdom of patience, living in the moment, acceptance of circumstances, and resilience. Since my diagnosis, my personal motto has been "Wellbeing Now, Now Being Well" and I have learned to "go where the energy goes". I have deep empathy for others discovering their own journey to live life well, as they choose it to be and at the pace they choose it to be. For the last 10+ years, I have been self-employed as a commercial photographer. I enjoy the creative challenges, variety and flexibility that my business brings to my life. Every day is different and every client has different requirements. From this experience, I have developed my skills to quickly build rapport with others, build trust through collaboration, decipher a client's needs and manage expectations. For me, photography is a way to observe the world around me and discover the extraordinary in the ordinary. I love to listen to other people's stories and discover what brings a sparkle to their eyes. I am a child at heart and love imaginative play (such as lego constructions, reading and writing), playing cards or board games, and engaging in any form of creative activity (photography, painting, knitting, sewing, baking). I like to spend time outside either going for walks in nature, exploring rock pools, gardening or visiting different places to explore (e.g. scenic drives in the countryside, museums, historical buildings, and botanical gardens). I am interested in low-impact fitness activities like aqua aerobics, ten-pin bowling, dancing and yoga.
