About

As someone working in disability support, becoming a social carer was an easy decision. I love what I do and love making a difference in people’s lives, and making genuine connections with each and every person I work with. I find that caring/ support roles are very rewarding, to be able to help clients reach their goals and have a positive and strong support network is amazing. I think I discovered this after being put in a position of taking care of my mother for the last few years after she was diagnosed with bowel cancer. I also have assisted in taking care of my uncle who has cerebral palsy and a variety of other physical and intellectual disabilities. I believe that the skills and compassion I've learnt from taking on these roles have taught me so much about caring for other people and allows me to demonstrate the patient and nurturing nature to the fullest extent. I believe i'd be good in a carer role not only because of my naturally sensitive and caring nature but also because of my experience and upbringing consistently around a variety of different disabilities and those requiring some extra care, so I feel that I am fairly familiar and have the necessary skills to be able to provide the best care to suit clients needs. Working in disability support has introduced me to a variety of disabilities and different needs, Some of my hobbies include art, such as drawing and painting. I love spending time outside with outdoor hobbies such as paddleboarding, going to the beach/ swimming, going on walks/ hikes, and photography. I also absolutely love being around/ caring for animals.
