About

Hi, I'm Emily! I've been a social carer for 2 years and worked as an early childhood educator for 10 years prior. Through my previous work, I discovered a passion for helping people with disabilities; in particular promoting their independence, advocating for their inclusion, and helping them achieve their goals. Through my love of learning new things, I've uncovered many interests such as dancing, circus arts, sewing, reading, gaming, animals, roller skating, arts and crafts, true crime, sustainability and being in nature. Every person's needs and interests are unique, and I'm always up for trying new activities to best support members. Some of the activities I've organised in the past include: going bushwalking, visiting art galleries, going to the beach, visiting museums, baking, shopping, going to the movies, painting, jewellery making, going on picnics and assisting with online TAFE work. While I am not available for cleaning jobs, I am happy to assist with light cleaning duties. I'm open to aiding in meal preparation, but for ethical reasons, I do not feel comfortable handling meat.
