About

I love working with people of different ages and have always wanted to give back to my community. In years 12, I was voted by the student body to become the College Captain which allowed me to grow and develop both as a leader and an active participant in the community. I developed great skills through these activities which included teamwork skills, communication skills, autonomy, independence and learning to contribute to the community. I have learnt to communicate efficiently with students and teachers, specifically encouraging students to work together to increase productivity. These experiences allowed me to be a responsible leader and take the initiative to complete certain tasks independently. I was able to give back to the school and suggest new ideas, thus contributing to the development of the school for future students. Furthermore, I learnt how to be organised and be a good role model by constantly setting the right example for the students. I want to make the people of the community feel valued and appreciated and give my time to the less fortunate members of our society. Therefore, I believe that I will be a great Social Carer because I can emphasise and actively listen to the people and their needs and wants. I will be able to share my skills and hobbies with members in the community by sharing tips and encouraging them to participate. I will provide them with extra support and make sure she/he is set with easy instructions to be able to participate in the activity.
