About
I absolutely love helping people from all areas of life. For a large part of my childhood and adulthood, I lived with my grandparents and always helped them around the house, from taking them to medical appointments to clearing out the fridge, vacuuming and cooking. I have incredible patience with the elderly and a great listener. During 2020-2021, I worked as a musician and composer at Liverpool Hospital to write music for palliative care patients and staff. I contributed to Groundswell AU publication to art-making and music-making at home. It is so valuable to meet people from all different walks of life that have various needs. I would love to continue to deepen my empathy, compassion and kindness for the community around me. My favourite thing is to bring a bunch of portable instruments such as little drums and recorders and teach little kids how to create their own music by drawing their music, so there is absolutely no musical knowledge required. I love helping them coming up with little symbols and pictures that represent different rhythms or notes, help them put them together in a line and playing that musical line together. I think music-making, songwriting and writing music should be accessible and fun for all. *IMPORTANT*I do not offer professional piano teaching or instrumental teaching under Like Family. The instrumental activities I do offer are more for bonding and socialising. Please seek other social carers or professional music tutors for music lessons.
