At school I originally wanted to be a Social Worker and then decided to pursue the path to a Clinical Pyschologist. I went on to complete a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing going onto run my own business for 20 years in Design and Print. I have always regtretted not pursuing jobs in the caring sector and utilsing the skills I have for this work. So at the age of 56 I have recently begun work as a support worker which I love. I am a very compassionate person with the ability to communicate effectively with individuals from a range of different backgrounds and needs. I am particularly adept at meaningfully engaging with people with complex needs and do so with patience. I am a very friendly and down to earth person. My clients find me very comfortable to be around and enjoy my company. I have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as a very partical side and very experienced with personal care and domestic tasks. I am very interested in people and social interaction. I have always had allot of freinds and various group of friends from many different backgrounds. I love talking with people and learning about themselves, their culture and background. I compassionate, patient, honest and trustworthy, energetic and fun. I love sport, particulary pilates and swimming. I love nature, walkign but particularly enjoy the beach. I am also an avid reader and enjoy movies, travel and food. I am the youngest of 5 children. My oldest sibling is 14 years older than me. I have helped care for my father after a serious accident and my mother with dementia. I am a mother with a 19 year old daughter. I have strong interpersonal skills as well have run a successful business for 20 years which I am now stepping away from.
