I wanted to become a social carer because I value supporting people to enrich their own lives, navigate difficult transitions and find joy in various aspects of their life. Additionally, my father sustained a traumatic brain injury 15 years ago which has impacted the way he is able to navigate the world drastically; through this experience I have witnessed how valuable and important compassionate and kind carers are and I feel I would be able to provide support in a similar way. Some of my hobbies include reading, music, swimming and pregnancy/birth/motherhood. I have a passion for supporting families through big transitions, particularly mothers through navigating pregnancy, birth and postpartum. I am a skilled lactation consultant, a doula and a mum to three children, a musician (I play the trumpet) and prior to having my children I was a plant physiology researcher (graduated from my doctorate in 2016 and coordinated agriculture units at Western Sydney University until 2018).
