In my short lifetime I have grown to learn a lot about people, I was born and raised in the small island of Tonga, My family and I migrated to New Zealand when I was 8. I now reside here In Australia with my husband. I have grown up meeting many different people from many different backgrounds, I have learnt to love and understand each of their cultures. I even learnt how to speak and write in English, with theses experiences I was able to score my first job at 16 years old, I worked as a loyal employee and built my knowledge in this business and was promoted management, I later managed the shop for 5 years. With this responsibility I was able to add to my knowledge of learning and understanding the rich culture Australia has to offer with working Full Time, Hiring and Training. In my free time I have been doing volunteer work for The church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, My Husband and I worked with primary children for a year, we sang, played and laughed. We really enjoyed that. I am now currently working with youth group and have been for the last 2.5 years. I love learning and listening to the youths crazy stories, Helping them to set personal goals and of course later encouraging them to achieve their goals. We have made so many memories over activities such as over night camp at another volunteer workers backyard in Clearance Town, go on walks, have a girls movie night in at my place, Ice Skating and Colour run just to name a few. Covid-19 is making things harder for us to get together but thank goodness for technology we are able to zoom chat play KAHOOT and keep in contact that way. The youth enjoyed our latest activity which was held over zoom and we all made a cake in a mug cooked in the microwave and enjoyed it together. Though the last past months have been tragic I am driven through my passion of serving and loving the people I serve. The youths are much like family now, the relationship you built when you are truly there to listen to their worries, big or small, lend a helping hand or purely just being a friend or a companion is something you can not physically show but feel in your heart. I have grown to love and understand so many different type or personalities that I come across. I want to continue being of service to my own community and make a difference in the lives of others. I am patient and willing to tech others about my interests by allowing, encouraging and demonstrating them step by step on how to achieve and enjoy that interest. During lockdown I have started to learn how to play the ukulele, learnt some basketball techniques, I am excited to share my knowledge and hobbies with you. I enjoy cooking not necessary from a recipe book and I wont say it's always delicious but I love to experiment different type food and the secret to a good meal is not the spices or the ingredients....... the secret is love and laughter. I believe if you have these two ingredients you can make anything you cook enjoyable. I love the beautiful scenery Australia has, taking photos of nature and of course a selfie to add to my scrap book. I enjoy the difficulties of a good hike and a rewarding dip in the beach or pool to cool off.
