About

I would make a great social carer because I see this as is an opportunity to make a real difference in people’s lives. No single day is the same, which means I am adaptable, flexible and willing to help in any way you can to ensure my client is cared for. For me, it’s more than just a job it’s a way to help those disadvantaged gain independence in their lives and feel part and contribute back to their their communities.^& ^&Assisting a client by sharing my skills is something that brings me great joy and satisfaction, hence I plan on sharing my skills of communication, active listening, team work, adaptability and resilience. My my hobbies include playing sports, traveling, cooking, reading, hiking and I'm always open to learning new skills and hobbies. An example I can think of is my love for sports. When playing in a team sport, you are required to exercise commitment towards the team by showing up punctually for training and games. One is encouraged to communicate effectively with coaches and teammates during the game and try to keep each party involved and accountable to get more out of the experience. During losses one has to be resilient and show support to other teammates who struggle with defeat. When the team wins we celebrate and also empathize with the other team. These are transferrable skills from the sporting field to the workplace and I strongly believe it will assist me in a role as a social carer if given the opportunity. ^&
