I am currently working as a support worker. I work within independent living community houses. My clients are non-verbal, and also have mental and intellectual disabilities. My support work has given me the opportunity to work with brain acquired injury patients, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome - spinal instability, schizophrenia, borderline personality disorder. I am also currently completing Certificate IV in Mental Health, due to my extensive life experience with helping a brother with bipolar & multiple personality disorders, also his battle with alcohol and drug issues. I have my NDIS Screening clearance. I also have current CPR and First Aid trainings. I also am DHS approved. I am adequately aware & conditioned to working with people with disabilities. I feel my own personal knowledge and experiences, will help me offer the empathy and compassion to help others. My advocacy for mental health, medical conditions, intellectual and physical disabilities are a passion. If you are looking for someone who works in this industry for the connections, friendships and the joy of helping others.^& ^&By seeing if I can introduce them to my love for sports - in particular AFL by asking if they would like to watch a game, see if there is a spark or interest. Explain the sport and get feedback and answer any questions or queries. If there able to see if they would like to eventually one day get to a game and see if I could take them. ^&
